See it running

Seven real screens from the app itself, not pictures of it. Tick the last task and watch what happens.

One tap per task, whatever your list is about. It saves on your phone first, so a dead signal never costs you a day.

Why we built it

We kept starting things and quietly stopping, usually by the second week. Nothing was wrong with the lists. The part that was missing was anybody noticing.

So Wird shows the people in your room how much of your day you finished, and nothing beyond that: not your tasks, not the ones you skipped. Enough to make you want to turn up, not enough to explain yourself.

It is free, there are no ads, and nothing in it can be bought with money. If that ever has to change, it will change in the open.

One list, one tap a day

There is no setup to get through and nothing to learn. You write the list, you tick things off, and the app does the counting.

    • Morning workout
    • Read 20 pages
    • One hour of deep work

    Write your list

Anything you are trying to keep up. Name them, reorder them, change them the day they stop fitting. Say how hard one is and it is worth more points.

    The numbers add up

Points on every task, coins for a day you finish, and a streak that grows only on the days you finish. Miss one and you keep everything you already earned.

What the rest of it does

Three screens worth a closer look, because they are the ones people ask about.

A room, and one code to fill it

Make a room, send its six-character code to whoever should be in it, and everybody keeps their own list inside it. You decide whether the code admits people straight away or sends you a request first.

  • Ranked by progress, streak or points, whichever you choose. It is only ever this room’s numbers.
  • Weekly sessions or one-off dates, with a place and notes, and a reminder everybody gets.
  • Rotate the code if it gets out, hand the room over, or leave. Your history is kept if you come back.

A journal we cannot read

A page for the day, with a mood if you want one. It is encrypted in your browser before it is sent, so what sits in the database is ciphertext rather than your writing.

  • No supervisor and no member of any room you are in can open it. That is enforced in the database, not by the interface.
  • By default the key belongs to your account, so your journal opens on a new device without you doing anything.
  • Add a passphrase and it becomes end-to-end: the key is wrapped with it, and we cannot recover your entries if you lose both it and your recovery code.

Whether it is actually working

A month at a glance, each day shaded by how much of it you finished. This is the screen that answers the only question that matters after the first two weeks.

  • Tap any day to see the list you had then, and what you ticked.
  • A day you missed is shown plainly and costs you nothing you already earned.
  • A list that grew on Wednesday does not make Monday look worse, because each day is measured against what it asked for at the time.

What the points get you

Finished days pay coins, and coins go on how your character looks. Nothing you buy touches your score or your place on the leaderboard. That stays about turning up.

Level 7

A character to dress

Animals, frames, backgrounds, companions and titles, around fifty pieces in all. They unlock as your level rises and cost coins you earned, and there is no way to buy them with money.

Badges, and how close you are

Each badge draws your progress on itself, so you can see what tomorrow is worth. If you run a room you can add your own, tied to the tasks that matter in it.

One level, every room

Points from every room you are in count toward the same level. Leave a room and you keep what it paid you.

Two scoreboards, and which is which

Your account keeps one running total. Each room keeps its own. This is the part people ask about, so it is written down rather than discovered.

One day, one list

Nobody splits their morning into worship and fitness. Write down what you mean to do, whatever it is, on one list.

  • Fajr on time

  • Qur’an · one page
  • Arabic vocab · 15 min

4 of 5. Your room sees the number, and nothing above it.

Your list stays yours

You see every task you kept and every one you missed. The people in your room see how far you got. That line is drawn in the database rather than in the interface, so a request for somebody else’s list comes back empty.

What you see

Level 712

Progress, streak, level and badges.

Five of six, and no way to tell which one is missing.

Two questions, and the room exists

First, who it is for. Then, what it starts with, and there are four answers to that one: a short set of questions that lays the day out around you, a ready-made list, somebody else’s routine, or an empty page you write yourself.

First, who the room is for

  • Me and other peopleThe code lets them in
  • Just meNobody else joins

Then, what it starts with

  • Build one around meA few questions about your hours and what matters to you, and the room comes back with a day already laid out.
  • A ready-made listPick an area: faith, study, work, body, or home. Its tasks and badges arrive with it.
  • Somebody else’s dayEleven rooms are built on the daily routines of people worth learning a day from.
  • Start from scratchAn empty room and a cursor. The whole list is in your handwriting.

The broadest of the ready-made lists

  • Faith & Worship14 tasks · 14 badges
  • Fitness & Movement8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Study & Learning8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Mind & Wellbeing8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Work & Focus8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Finance & Saving8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Home & Family8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Team or Classroom8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Reading8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Creative Practice8 tasks · 3 badges
  • Health & Nutrition8 tasks · 3 badges

These are the broadest categories. The picker has 38 packs in all, including narrower ones shaped around a job, a course, or a house with small children in it.

The rest of it

  • On your own works too

A room of one drops the leaderboard and keeps everything else. The tab that would have been Circle is called You instead.

  • One nudge, at your hour

You choose the time, and quiet hours keep it away from your sleep.

  • Arabic and English, both ways

The whole app flips direction, and anything you write keeps the direction you wrote it in.

Asked before anybody starts

  • Can the others see my tasks?

No. They see a progress ring, a streak, a level and the badges you have earned, and not what is on the list. The only person who can see which items you ticked is the supervisor of that room, and if you started the room that is you.

  • Is scoring worship not just showing off?

What anybody else is shown is a number, never an act. Your list stays on your device and your journal is encrypted before it is sent, so this is closer to keeping your own account than to performing one. A missed day also halves a streak rather than wiping it, so nothing here is built to manufacture guilt.

  • Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, and nothing you can buy with money. If that ever has to change it will change in the open, and everyone who joined before then keeps a full year of everything, free, with no card.

  • What happens if I miss a day?

Your streak halves instead of going back to zero, so there is still something left worth keeping. You can also fill in a day you missed, up to a week back.

  • Why not just use our group chat?

A chat has no memory and no total. Nobody can tell you what week three looked like, and when someone goes quiet nothing happens. A room keeps the count, and a quiet day shows up as a smaller ring rather than as an awkward silence.

  • Do I need to install anything?

No. It opens in your browser and you can add it to your home screen in one tap. There is no app store listing and nothing to download.

Start with one list

A minute to set your room up. Then send one code to whoever should be in it, or keep it to yourself, which is also a room.

  • Free, with nothing to buy
  • No card, no trial
  • Delete your account whenever
